Bob Fagan is a native of New York. As a teenager, he would pick up his camera and photograph the city. After high school, inspired by Adams, Weston and Robert Frank, he moved out west. He graduated from San Francisco Academy of Art University, where he studied under the renowned documentary photographer Ken Light. After his formal education, he returned to New York and became an assistant to Irving Penn. He worked in the studio on Penn’s commercial work and in the darkroom, he printed Penn’s silver gelatin and platinum prints, including the critically acclaimed "Cranium Architecture" exhibit. After working with Mr. Penn, he set up a studio at 140 Fifth Avenue. His editorial work has appeared in numerous magazines and his commercial work has been used in advertising for a variety of commercial clients.

Currently, Bob lives in New York City with his wife Terri and daughter Molly.
